Spring Break

Last week was spring break. It was great to have a week off from the regular routine! Since we didn't have any big plans and Sean was still working, the kids & I each took a day to plan something for us to do together.

Sabra picked Monday. We all went to "Monsters vs. Aliens," and Sean even joined us at the late matinee. Pretty good show; the kids all had fun with it. The Cineplex Odeon theater has no idea the amount of popcorn the six of us can consume in their refillable large bag--we refill it throughout the movie and just keep on eating. (My children have inherited the popcorn gene from my side. Love it.) Bob was their favorite monster. They got the joke that he has no brain and yet still talks and comes up with ideas. It's fun having older kids who can appreciate some humor.

Tuesday Tristan chose to go on a family bike ride. We rode to an elementary school which is further away than ours, making sure to bring water bottles and snacks to eat once we got there. Jamison went fishing with Sean and Uncle Joe later that afternoon/evening and had a good time.

Wednesday after cleaning the downstairs family room as a joint effort, we went to lunch at Burger King. (My day.) The dollar menu has some good choices; you can actually get quite a bit of food for not too big a price tag.

Thursday was Raleigh's: swimming. We went to the Clearfield Aquatic Center, which is quite a bit like the Bountiful rec center now. Indoor pool, water slide, and playground for the kids, as well as a lazy river.

Friday I kind of finished up my plan and took the kids two by two (youngest and then oldest) to some stores to spend their birthday gift cards. Sabra & Tristan went to Wal-Mart and Toys R Us, and Raleigh & Jamison went to the mall (Limited & Claire's), Target, & Michael's. They each got to choose what they wanted to buy with their gift cards. Then Jamison finished the day off by wanting to go to dinner together, so we went to Sizzler. It was a good week.

We dropped the camera just before our bike ride on Tuesday, so I bought a disposable one for Easter. If anyone has any recommendations for new digital cameras, let me know!
